Protect your Family from Mosquito-Borne Illnesses

baby playing in pool One of the dangers of mosquitoes is that they carry a number of illnesses that can make you ill including the West Nile virus, St. Louis Encephalitis and the Zika virus. One of the best ways to protect your family from these serious illnesses is to stop mosquitoes from living and breeding on your property. Mosquito Tek can come to your home for a free inspection of your property, and also provide you with a free estimate of costs. Should you decide to have the mosquito control treatment done after the inspection, our technicians will address any standing water, apply larvicide as necessary and then apply a barrier spray that will keep mosquitoes from coming in your yard.

Organic Spray Treatments that are Environmentally Safe

At Mosquito Tek, we offer two treatment options. We offer a conventional mosquito control treatment using TalStar, which is effective for up to three weeks and has a strong mosquito knockdown, but is safe for you and your family. We also offer an organic mosquito control option using Essentria, that will last for up to two weeks. Essentria is NOP compliant and has no aquatic setback.

Optional Flea and Tick Protection

At Mosquito Tek, we understand how important your family’s safety is to you, which is why we offer the option of adding flea and tick control protection to each mosquito control treatment. Frequently Asked Questions about our Mosquito Control Services

What happens when you perform a mosquito treatment?

During each treatment our technicians will perform the following four steps:
    1. Inspect and assess your property to determine any areas where there may be issues with mosquitoes.
    2. Identify any breeding sites and address any standing water on your property.
    3. Apply larvicide to any areas where the standing water cannot be emptied.
    4. Spray your foliage, tree line, undergrowth and ground cover with an effective mosquito barrier spray.

How long will each treatment take?

It depends on the size of your property. Most yards can be treated in about a half an hour. If you have a larger property it can take up to an hour or possibly longer.

    What insecticides do you use?

We offer both a conventional and organic option. Our conventional option provides protection for up to twenty one days. The organic treatments are effective for up to fourteen days.

Do I have to be at home during a treatment?

No. You will need to give the technician access to your property and make sure your pets are inside. The technician will leave a note stating the date and time of the treatment once the service is completed.

Will the mosquitoes in my neighbor’s yard come into mine after I have a treatment?

The treatment we use will set up a barrier of protection around your home so that when mosquitoes cross into this area they will die. However, it is more effective for overall mosquito control if you encourage your neighbors to have their yard treated as well, which is why we offer neighborhood discount plans.

Do I need to pay for an estimate?

We offer free estimates, but we do need to inspect your property in order to determine the best treatment plan for your property.

What happens if I see a mosquito between treatments?

If you see a mosquito in between treatments, call us. With our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, we will send someone out to retreat your property at no additional charge.
